About Us
The Louisville Metro Reentry Task Force is a non-profit organization established in Louisville, Kentucky, specializing in offender reentry and related issues. The task force works very hard to maintain open and informative communication related to reentry issues within the Louisville, Kentucky area and beyond.

The LMRTF consists of members from all parts of the reentry process. Our members include local, state, and federal government representatives, as well as employment, housing and counseling service providers from both profit and non-profit organizations. The task force meets regularly to discuss issues, current trends, and/or problems pertaining to the reentry process.

History
Over the past several years, the Louisville Metro area has seen a drastic increase in the number of Transitional Houses in our community. Some of these houses have been operated by agencies and some by individuals. Members of the LMRTF have been made aware of several reports of misconduct, unsanitary conditions and unethical behavior from some of the existing Transitional Houses in the community. Since some Transitional Houses are not subject to licensing by any state or local agency, they have not been required to be accountable to any outside agency or form of inspection to help guarantee the safety of the residents. That has resulted in the LMRTF agreeing to act as the Certifying Agency to oversee annual inspections of Transitional Houses and help insure that Transitional Houses in Louisville can operate with a renewed sense of integrity.

So what does that mean to your agency?
The LMRTF is made up of hundreds of individuals and organizations that refer inmates and clients to Transitional Houses on a regular basis. These organizations want to refer to quality, reputable Transitional Houses that meet basic living standards to insure that their clients are kept safe while living in the facility. Members of the LMRTF all agree that they will only refer their clients and inmates to Transitional Houses that become certified with the agency.

As a Certified Transitional House, your Transitional House name, address and contact information will appear on the LMRTF website for all LMRTF members to access and make referrals. The LMRTF will also make outside agencies aware of the Certified Transitional House referral section as well. Your Transitional House could be accessed by prisons, jails, social services and Probation and Parole with one click of a button. The Certified Transitional House list would be updated on a regular basis to insure up to date
and accurate information.
